You may be surprised to learn that I am not really an owl. The avatar is a relic of the time when nobody on the internet confessed who they were, and spent most of their time online in carpet slippers and a dressing gown.

My less exotic persona is mostly to be found communing with a computer in my studio looking out over the tree tops.

In the far distance I can just see the aircraft taking off and landing at London Heathrow. Writing travel literature for British Airways was one of the most exciting jobs I've had as a copywriter. Another was working in 'Ulcer Gully' - Madison Avenue, New York.

I have edited a cartoonists' magazine and a book on accelerated learning, gained fascinating if questionable qualifications in psychology, persuaded Oxford to award me a more respectable MA in English, and spent the rest of my time drawing and painting.

I fall about in total ecstasy over mini gadgets, particularly cameras and pocket sketching kits. I have of course long since surpassed the seventh heaven over Palms, Pocket PCs, iPhones, iPad and now an Android phone and tablet.

This website was originally all about drawing facial expressions for icons and web graphics. I haven't been able to resist adding my new explorations of drawing and painting on the latest miraculous tablets and phones.

To do this I found of course that I had to update the whole site. This is the very last page of all 50 rewritten.
